Joseph Smethurst Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Smethurst in North Bay, Ontario, born in Barrie, Ontario, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 22, 2026 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry and Helen; and his sister Cathie Renault (Doug). He is survived by: his wife Herma; his stepchildren, Iria, Stacey (Ben), Nickaldo (Lesa) and Andre (Shanora); his stepgrandchildren, Kadeen, Anayah, Dreshan and Kameron; his mother-in-law Hazel; and his siblings, Madeline Taylor (late Ian), Bob (Susan) and Gwen Pitteway (Poon). He is also survived by brothers and sisters, their spouses and their children.
