She was predeceased by: her siblings, Karen, Linda and Kaarlo; and her parents, Kaarlo Niemi and Saara Julia Niemi.

She is survived by: her children, Tammi and Madjy (John); her grandson Evan; her husband Henry; her sister Marilyn; her niece Kaarina Stiff; and her nephew Trevor Scott.

Because of Covid, it will be limited to close family only.

She was very instrumental in supporting me in the implementation of Reading Recovery for the board. She shared my passion and believe in advocating for the most at risk child and supported me in my work and her belief in me as an educator. I had extreme respect for her and the work she did.
