With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lawrence Alexander Byers of North Bay, Ontario, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 13, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his granddaughter Zoey; his siblings, Mervin Byers (late Ruth) of Mattawa, Vivian McKee (late Ranald) of Timmins, Maurice Byers (Shirley) of North Bay, Margaret Watson (late Dan) of United States, Thelma Byers of Timmins, Lyall Byers (Eunice) of Callander and Victor Byers (Linda) of Sturgeon Falls; his parents, Mabel Byers (McConnell) and Alex Byers; and his sister Hilda Hersemeyer (late Eugene).
He is survived by: his wife Lila (Grawbarger) of North Bay; his children, Bonnie Connell (Allan) of Bruce Mines, Penny Etherington (Jim) of Thunder Bay and Jerry Byers of Callander; his grandchildren, Jeffery Connell, Kevin Connell (Katie), Shane McDonald (Courtney), Amanda DeCorte (BJ), Alex Byers (Brianna) and Dakota Byers; and his great grandchildren, Diezel, Mack, Jake, Zak, Chase, Trenton, Payton, Emma, Benson and Cassidy.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, June 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Paul Funeral Home (531 Main St, Powassan, ON P0H1Z0). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Nipissing Cemetery (4506 ON-654, Nipissing, ON P0H1W0). A burial will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at the same location.
