He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Smith and Rose Smith; his sister Carole; and his brother-in-law Harry Hughes (Jacques Larocque). He is survived by: his siblings, Lise Thompson (Jack) of Kingston, Murielle Hughes of North Bay, Line Abraham (Dan) of North Bay, Pierre Smith (Sandra Rose) of North Bay and Gérald Smith (Monique Thibeault) of Hawksbury; and his cousin Monique Chabot of Montréal. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
