He was predeceased by: his wife Cecile; and his brother Peter. He is survived by: his siblings, Otto, Heinrich and Hildegard; his sons, Rob (Jane) and Ron (Elisabeth); his grandchildren, Sarah (Aaron), Lisa, Véronique, Katryna and Nikolaus (Paula); and his great grandchildren, Emmett, Konrad, Trystan and Milo. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
