He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Carreiro and Alexandria Carreiro; and his sister Ilda Amaral (late Ares). He is survived by: his wife Maria Eduarda Carreiro; his children, Elizabeth Carreiro, Sandra Carreiro and Michael Carreiro (Stephanie Sigouin); his granddaughter Ava Carreiro; and his siblings, Noema Cordeiro (Almer) and John Carreiro (Madelena).
