It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Walter Blahey of North Bay, Ontario, born in Timmins, Ontario, who passed away on January 11, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Betty; his parents, Nicholas Blahey and Anne Blahey; and his brothers, William (Timmins), Edward (Elliot Lake) and Raymond (North Bay).

He is survived by: his children, David (Janice), Christopher (Kristen), Kimberly (Jeff), Finley of Bonfield and Lou Ann (Steven); his grandchildren, Gregory (Julianny) of Toronto and Patricia (Andrea); his great grandchildren, Ryan of Piano, Mommio and Scott of Vancouver; his son Tim (Laurie) of Ottawa; his grandchild Connor of Halifax; his daughter Linda Hegyi; his great grandchildren, Jim and Jack of North Bay; and his sisters-in-law, Eveline, Mildred (Mississauga) and Germaine (North Bay).

Due to COVID restrictions, the family will hold a private funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption Parish (procathederal.ca) will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
