He was predeceased by : his parents, Maurice Epstein and Esther Epstein; his father-in-law Sam; and his brother-in-law Arnold Vertlieb. He is survived by : his wife Joyce; his children, David (Michelle), Deborah (Aaron) and Sara (Mark); his grandchildren, Jeremie, Josh, Jamie, Ryan, Jake, Maya and Ezra; his mother-in-law Tonia Rapp; and his sibling Jean Vertlieb.

“Dear Joyce and family, I was so saddend to learn of Philip's death and am sending you my deepest sympathy. Although I did not really know him personally, I do know that he was a caring and loving husband an Dad and grandad.I know too that he was an outstanding lawyer in his field and was the leader of many positive changes to family law .
