He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth; his sons, Stephen (Jean) and Matthew (Tammy); and his grandchildren, Austin and Sarah.
He is survived by: his daughter Catherine (Clifton); his grandson Richard (Leshada); his great grandchild Hunter; and his sibling's children, Lois, Lynne, Patricia (Joe), Carolyn, Don and Patti (Steve).
During COVID, he taught himself how to make many stringed instruments and then taught himself to play them (banjo, mandolin).
