John Russell Smith Obituary

We announce the death of John Russell Smith (Northbrook, Ontario), who passed away on October 24, 2026, at the age of 81. John will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his brother Bob Smith (Mary); his parents, Russell Smith and Marie Smith; and his stepmother Shirley Storms. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Smith; his children, Chris and Vicki; his grandchildren, Kara and Tanner Gibson; and his siblings, Reg Smith (Sharon), Cathy Taul (Chris) and Jennifer Rider (late Brian). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
