John Byl Obituary
We bid farewell to John Byl of Norwich, Ontario, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 14, 2025 at the age of 83. John touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Reata Byl; his children, Robert Byl, John, Martha Byl and Janet Byl; and his siblings, Pauline Vanderweerd, Marinus Byl, Karl and Audrey Koudijes. He was also cherished by his thirteen grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Netherlands Reformed Congregation (45 Main St W, Norwich, ON N0J1P0). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Springford Cemetery (225227 Otterville Rd, Norwich, ON N0J1R0). A reception will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Rehoboth Christian School (43 Main St E, Norwich, ON N0J1P0).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethany Care Home, in Norwich, Ontario.
