He was predeceased by: his siblings, George Vanderwal and Linda Aantjes-Vanderwal; his parents, Peter (Leentje Vanderwal) and Sam (Cornelia Kersten); his son-in-law Michael Harvey; and his in-laws, Joe, Neeltje Vanderwal, Theresa Vanderwal, Jan, Johanna Vanderwal, Wilma, Teus Blankenstijn, Leendert Vanderwal, Arie Aantjes, Cathy Stubbe and Henrietta Scholten.
He is survived by: his spouse Shona Vanderwal; his children, Cathy, Ed Veldjesgraaf of Burgessville, John, Carol Vanderwal of Woodstock, Connie, Arnold Van Esch of Norwich, Hannah and Henry Vrugteveen of Norwich; and his siblings-in-law, Isaac Stubbe, John Scholten, Evan and Ruth Kersten.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bethany Care Home, Norwich.
