Cynthia Clawson Obituary

With sadness we announce the passing of Cynthia "Cindi" Mae Clawson, who left us on May 23rd at 11:01 p.m., surrounded by her loving family, following complications from surgery.

Cindi was a loving mother to daughters Carrie (Brian) and Tara – daily calling to ask how we were and what was the latest news. She was the most loving and proud Nan to her grandchildren - Golden boy Jeffrey, whom she loved to watch play baseball and her special Elyssa who spent so much time by her side sharing laughs as Elyssa's wit matched her own. We all knew her deep love for her Grand-animals Dexter, Lola, and Vegas – who were the most spoiled with treats.

Known affectionately as "Our Dah-ling Cynthia," Cindi lit up every room with her warmth, quick laugh, and famously cheeky sense of humor. She brought joy and love to all who knew her. Cindi's many friendships spanned back to her school days, a testament to the deep and lasting connections she made throughout her life. Cindi especially cherished her 64-year friendship with her BFF, Linda Lawson, a bond that not only spanned decades but also united two families—creating lifelong connections with Linda's children, David, Jill, and Shari.

She spent many happy years golfing and enjoying the company of friends in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, and Cedar Springs. Cindi loved sailing at OYS for many years and built deep friendships there. Her weekly card games with her "Euchre Girls" were a highlight.

Family was so important to Cindi. One of her greatest joys was spending time at Loon Lake with her adored niece Kim and family—Sean, Laura, Megan—and their beloved dog, Maui. These moments brought her deep happiness and peace. She held a special place in her heart for her nephew Chris (Sharron) and her great-niece and nephew, Charlotte and Brady (Holly). One of her greatest delights last year was the birth of her very special great-great-niece, Lennie D.

Cindi is reunited in rest with her beloved parents, Harold (Hal) and Yvette Clawson, and will be laid to rest alongside her mother at Glen Oaks Cemetery. She is survived by her sister Carol Hoskins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honour Cindi's memory and the remarkable life she lived. Details will be shared with family and friends in the coming weeks.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honour Cindi by performing an act of kindness or supporting a cause close to your heart in her name.

She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

Condolences from family and friends.
