He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Patrick Hammond and Amelia Hammond; his siblings, Patrick, Kevin, Terrance, Clara and Lawrence; his in-laws, Fergus and Clarissa; his children, Dwayne (Sheila) and Melanie (Mike); his son-in-law Joe; his pets, Benny and Oliver; his grandsons, Corey, Darcy and Malcolm; his nieces and nephews, Tina, Darrin (Vanessa), Melissa, Adam (Stacey), Sara (Jon), John (Kris), Erin (Keith) and Devon (Nate); and his parents-in-law, Lawrence, Ruth, Gerald and Bas.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association of Canada would be appreciated.

“Dear Eileen, Dwayne, Melanie and family. We first met Dave on Courtleigh Square in January 1988, we were neighbours for almost 6 years. They loved our kids and we enjoyed having breakfast at the Chateau in Georgetown on Sunday mornings. Friday nights Dave & Eileen would come over for Chinese food. We miss those days, it seems like yesterday. Dave was so kind hearted and had a wonderful sense of humour. Rest in Peace Dave, Love Joanne, Paul & family.”
