He was predeceased by: his parents, Constantino Serpa and Arminda Serpa; and his granddaughter Emma. He is survived by: his wife Gilberta; his children, Diana (Gilberto), Julie (Jeff), Frank (Jessica) and Sonya (Robert); his grandchildren, Sara, Simao, Julian, Layla, Olivia, Carlo and Mila; and his siblings, Maria Alda (Alberto), Jose Denis (Zelia) and Deolinda (Manuel). He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and their wives, many nieces, and nephews.
