She was predeceased by: her husband Feike Velsen; her children, Paulette (Daniel), Albert and Coralena; her grandsons, Alexander and Marc; her parents, Rein Walinga and Cornelia Walinga; and her siblings, Jan (Sjoerdtje), Johannes (Joukje), Dirk (Wieke), Pieter, Hiltje (Wieger), Corneliske (Rits), Hieltje, Afke (Coos), Nanne Kroes and Supporting.
She is survived by: her sisters-in-law, Jenke Walinga and Anna Kroes. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
