He was predeceased by : his siblings, Howard Merkley, Phyllis Leveque, Muriel Truscott (late Vick), Thelma Simmons (late Ray) and Audrey Stone (late Don).

He is survived by : his wife Bonnie Merkley; his children, Edward (Tanya), Thelma, Tracy (David) and James (Cora-Lee); his grandchildren, Samantha, Jordan, Skylar, Kyle, Sheldon, Alexaise (Wayne), Crystal, Stephanie (James), Ashley, Kathleen and Kaitlyn (Chris); and his sisters, Barbara Brown (Bob) and Dorothy Sagriff (Don). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Payne Funeral Home (178 Main St, Odessa, ON K0H2H0).
