He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert "Bob" Garlow and Wilma Garlow (VanEvery); and his brothers, John and Larry. He is survived by: his siblings, Kelly (Conrad), Wayne, Karen (Rob) and Greg (Kelly); his nieces and nephews, Dennis, Robin, Hollie, Gregory, Terrell, Zachary, John, Allen and Maura; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Brianna, Jayden, Dennis Junior, Alia, Nicholas Jr., Honey, Michael (Kermit), Shayanna and Milton Jr.; and his aunts, Vera and Norma.

“My deepest condolences go out to Paul's family. I first met Paul when he came to play bridge at our club in Ottawa a few months ago. He could see the bridge hands in a different way from those of us using the more modern approach. We often "miscommunicated", but I truly enjoyed playing with him. I came to appreciate his impish sense of humour and his courage in dealing with his health, that bad hand he had finally been dealt. I will miss him very much.”
