He was predeceased by : his parents, Ernest Longboat and Marjorie Longboat; his siblings, Margaret, Glenn, Edward and Ernest Jr.; his son Michael; and his son-in-law Dean.

He is survived by : his sister Ilene Johnson (Leroy); his grandchildren, Skyler (Kiello), Kathleen and Matthew (Jessica); and his great grandchild Marin McGregor. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, friends.
