He is survived by : his son Dane; his brothers, Glenn and Richard; his mother Donna; his nephew Justin; his aunts and uncles, Bill, Brenda, June and Peer; and his cousins, Teena, Jeff (Laura), Kim (Sam), Darryl (Dextra), Janine (Scott), Patrick (Beth), Genevieve (Nick), Kevin (Lorena), Melissa (Sean), Sharon (Al), Niels (Tina), Andrew (Victoria), AnnaMarie (Dan), Anita (Timothy) and Lisa (Jay).

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Blood Bank and the Bruce Trail Conservancy are appreciated in Darren's memory.
