It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Don Avery (Orangeville, Ontario), who passed away on November 22, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joan Avery; his children, Debby, Dianne, Donald Jr. (Lynette) and Tom (Jen); his grandchildren, Corey (Tatyana), Chantel (Riley), Emily and Andrew; his great grandchild Lennon; and his siblings, Albert (Clarice), Jean Guy (Audrey), Gloria (Ralph), Dianne, Alphonso (Wanda) and Janet (Norbert). He was also cherished by other relatives and many friends especially in the horse.

Memorial donations to Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society (osas.ca/donations) in lieu of flowers would be appreciated by the family.

“It's been many years since I spent time with Donnel and Joan. Jimmy talked him into buying a property down the road from us near Flesherton and building a new home. This was 50 years ago now. I have many happy menories - we shared a lot of meals together - Donnel always said I made the best meatloaf. This is where Donnel started with his love of horses. When Jimmy passed he was always there for me. My sincerest condolences to all the family . I am sorry for your loss.”
