It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elsie Shinniman in Orangeville, Ontario, who passed away on May 13, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles and Leta (Graham); her husband Stanley Roy Shinniman; her siblings-in-law, William Smith, Douglas Clark, Wesley Buelow, Douglas Shinniman, Murray Shinniman and Isabelle Postles (Ken); and her stepson Frank Shinniman.

She is survived by : her children, Robert Shinniman (Jennifer Betz) and Nancy McLeod (Michael); her stepchildren, Carol Way (Robert), Patricia Hearder (Jim), Steven Shinniman and Peggy McCullough; and her siblings, Betty Clark (Smith), Agnes Buelow and Graham Tribble (Merle).

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre (21 First St, Orangeville, ON L9W2C8). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A reception was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Caledon East Cemetery (12366 Airport Rd, Caledon East, ON L0N1E0). A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 8th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Dods & McNair Memorial.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital, the Kidney Foundation or a charity of one's choice.

She used to recap what happened during the day, especially with her "tea group" every Wednesday. Even when she wasn't feeling well, she always seemed positive.
