He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Connie; his children, Jean, Paul Dalli, Barry Van Ommen, Jennifer, Calvin Vandersluis, Tony, Krista Van Ommen, David, Marg Van Ommen, Jackie, Mark Selles, Joyce and Harold Olij; and his sisters, Grace, Alice and Betty Kampen (Rudy). He was also cherished by 26 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Memorial Donations in John's memory can be made to McNally House Hospice in Grimsby.
