She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Niewitecki and Elfriede Niewitecki; and her husband Klaus Raffel. She is survived by: her sons, Henry and Martin; her daughters-in-law, Maria and Marilyn; her grandchildren, Craig, Krista Eileen and Nicole; and her great grandchildren, James, Elizabeth, Beatrix, Liam and Elodie. She is also survived by other relatives, many friends.
