A freelance musician (drums-perc), I had the good fortune to play for Shirley, briefly back in the 80's. It was an absolute thrill, as I had adored her voice and writing for years. Backing her in a series of festivals, Shirley was a dream to play with. Bestowing unspoken respect, she was genuinely excited to hear what we might bring to her material.
