He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Alden and Sarah Alden; his former wife Patricia Alden; and his brother Alan Alden (Shirley). He is survived by: his wife Heather Tuline-Alden; his children, Laurie Philp (Neil), Cindy Evans (Brett), Jill Novosell (Dennis) and Shelly Pearce (Kevin); and his grandchildren, Nicolle, Justin, Andrew, Alex, Candice, Sarah, Lauren, Jula, Jakob and Aaron.
