He was predeceased by: his siblings, Garnett (Eileen) and Shirley Ritz (late Elvin); and his parents, John Matthew "Jack" (Myrtle Keating) and Kathleen Anne. He is survived by: his children, Matthew (Amanda) and Mary Godfrey (Douglas); his grandchildren, Xander, Max, Conall and Ryanna; his siblings, Cecil (Lovette), Lindsay (Diane), Larry (late Nancy) and Betty Ireton (late Stew); his close friends, Carroll and Maryann Crosbie; and his siblings, Matthew and Mary. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the Royal Canadian Legion.
