He was predeceased by: his parents, Jean Bumford and Benjamin Stanton; and his brothers, David (Vi) and Paul (Loraine). He is survived by: his wife Heather Chapman; his children, Anna Christen (Cornel) and Matthew Stanton (Erin); his grandchildren, Holly, Lilly and Anthony; his brothers, Tim (Jamie) and Mark (Julie); and his brother-in-law Stephen.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Simcoe Funeral Home (38 James St E, Orillia, ON L3V1L1). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at the Atherley Cemetery.
