She was predeceased by: her spouse Ivan Thornton; her parent Dalton Dwinnell; her parent-in-law Charles; and her sister Shirley Sears. She is survived by: her child Shelley Bergant (Calvin) of Orangeville; her grandchild Joshua Bergant of Toronto; her parent Dora Dwinnell; her parent-in-law Ida Thornton; her siblings, Lorne Dwinnell and Glenna Hadley; and her sister-in-law Doreen Caldwell. She is also survived by her nephews, nieces.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital or the SPCA - Orillia Branch.
