George Henry Northrop Obituary

We are sad to announce that on August 31, 2025, George Henry Northrop (Orillia, Ontario) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his daughter Julie Blackmore; his grandson Kyle Northrop; and his siblings, Sam Northrop, Sylvia Northrop and Freda Taylor.

He is survived by: his children, Laura Kovacs (Keith), Brenda Northrop and Jeffrey Northrop (Melody); his grandchildren, George Kovacs (Emily Kovacs-Leroux), Ben Kovacs, Roy Kovacs (Mercedes), Lynn Givens (Jodie), Tom Givens, Christa Blackmore, Jeremy Blackmore and Tamira Northrop; his great grandchildren, Walter Kovacs-Leroux, Basil Kovacs-Leroux, Hayes Kovacs, Dakota Kovacs, Maverick Kovacs, Jackson Givens, McCullough Givens, Anderson Givens, Dillan Givens, Nicholas Blackmore, Alexandra Blackmore, Brennan Blackmore and Brayden Blackmore; and his sister Marion Stratton.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the L. Doolittle Chapel (54 Coldwater St E, Orillia, ON L3V1W5). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
