It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Wilson Vierin (Orillia, Ontario), who passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Mitchell and Elizabeth Mitchell; her sisters, Joyce MacKenzie and Muriel Lenner; Robert, Alex, Betty and Edward.
She is survived by: her husband Norman Vierin; her children, Douglas (Eleanor), Karen Inglis, Dan Beck and Colleen; her grandchildren, Lee-Anne, Christipher, Sherri-Gayle, Andrew, Kristopher, Stuart and Amanda; her great grandchildren, Camden, Miley, Taylor, James, Emily, Kaylie, Sarah, Chloe and Zoey; and her close friend Val Hambly. She is also survived by her nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Simcoe Funeral Home (38 James St E, Orillia, ON L3V1L1). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Salvation Army Church (157 Coldwater Rd W, Orillia, ON L3V3L7).
As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Salvation Army Food Bank.
