We announce the death of Joan Browne of Orillia, Ontario, who passed away on September 8, 2026. Joan will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Margaret; her sister Susan; and her former husband Richard Browne. She is survived by: her children, Jill, John of Calgary, Nancy, Ed (Zantinge) of Owen Sound, Richard, Kellie (West) of North Carolina, Michael and Trish (Hanselman) of Ontario; and her great grandchildren, Natalie, Michael, Ryan Zantinge (Maegen (Guse)) of Collingwood, Katelyn Browne (Susanna) and Richard Browne (Kim).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 21st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Simcoe Funeral Home (38 James St E, Orillia, ON L3V1L1).
No flowers, thank you. Charitable donations in Mum's name, if so desired, may be made to the Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital or the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital. Please direct your donation to the department or area of your choice.
