He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Richards and Reta Richards; and his brothers, Roy and Ken. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Richards; his children, Ted (Kathy) and Lynn; his grandchildren, Chris (Amanda), Michael (Michelle), Ryan (Laura) and Erin; and his great grandchildren, Jayden, Ryder, Bay, Jasmine, Angelina, Sydney, Easton, Hayden, Hendrik, Weston and Annemijn.

In lieu of flowers the family welcomes donations made to Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital.
