He was predeceased by: his wife Janice Barclay. He is survived by: his children, Andrew Barclay (Beverley) and Tammy Desroches (Shane Nixon); his sister Susan Barclay; his grandchildren, Mitchell Barclay (Emily), Mackenzie Harper (Brad), Conner Desroches and Summer Desroches (Stephen Bursey); his stepgrandchildren, Chelsea Nelson, Charles Nelson and Oliver Nelson (Logan); and his great grandchildren, Brooks, Calvin, Scotlynn, Sierra and Bennett.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Alzheimer Society, in recognition of the support and advocacy that meant so much throughout John's journey.
