He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray McDonald and Margaret McDonald; and his sibling Helen. He is survived by: his spouse Joyce Slessor; his children, Derek (Leanne) of Sudbury and Stephanie (Sean Mahoney) of Sudbury; his stepchildren, Cory Brockbank and Jason Brockbank; his grandchildren, Morgan, Vienna McDonald, Emily, Caelyn, Liam, Nathan and Maeve Mahoney; and his siblings, Patricia, Greg (June), Bob, Steve, Kathy (Wayne), Susan (Gary), Peter (Nicole) and Sandy (Krysia).
Following cremation, the family will receive friends at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N., Orillia on Saturday, July 7th from 2 - 5 P.M. If desired, Memorial Donation to Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Foundation (Emergency/ICU) would be gratefully appreciated.
