He was predeceased by: his parents, William Downing and Janet Downing (Vickers); and his siblings, Ron, Robert, Doug and Carole Nichols.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Downing; his children, Sherri-Lynn Escoe (Mark Williamson), Rhonda, Carey Escoe (Sheila) and Deena Dagenais (Jeffrey); and his grandchildren, Sam (Lee Williamson), Daniel Escoe (Kolynna), Racquel (Jake Escoe) and Madelaine (Olivia Dagenais). He is also survived by his many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
