He was predeceased by: his spouse Mary; and his sisters, Helen Meacher (Jim), Orma Goss (Mansell), Margaret Reid (Wally), Velma O'Connell (Charlie) and Louise Duncan (Jim).
He is survived by: his child Donna Hewitt (Ian Brown) of Atherley; his grandchildren, Ellie Ruggles and Katie Ruggles; and his son-in-law Don Ruggles.
