It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley Ruby Handy (Orillia, Ontario), who passed away on December 30, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Reginald Archer and Mary Archer; her sister Faye Townes (Lawrence); and her siblings-in-law, Ruby Crowe and Leonard Handy (Doreen).

She is survived by: her son Douglas (Cynthia); her husband James Ronald Handy; her son Shane (Leslie-Ann); her grandchildren, Craig (Samantha), Francesca, Alexander and Matthew; and her brother Donald Archer (Margaret). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends.

“Shirley Handy was one of my mother's 42 1st cousins on her father's side of the family. So I only ever met Shirley and Jim in the context of an annual Archer Reunion. I was impressed when Jim introduced himself to me following my father's death saying had they known about my father's funeral they would have come. I called Shirley just last month. She was so eager to talk and share information about her family. Who would have thought that a month later we should learn of her demise. R.I.P.”
