“It’s heartbreaking to lose someone with so much ahead of them. I’ve rewritten this many times because it’s hard to express how sorry I am for your loss. Though I wasn’t very close to Master Corporal Véronique Duhaime, I had the honour of being her sergeant in our troop. She was dedicated and hardworking. I remember sharing a cabin with her during an FTX, where her positive attitude and strength stood out. She will be remembered with respect and fondness. My thoughts are with you. Sgt. Bani-Taha”
