He was predeceased by: his sibling-in-law Susan Atkinson (Rick); and his parent Rita Souliere. He is survived by: his spouse Lynne Souliere; his children, James Souliere (Steph) and Daniel Souliere Carrie Keeling (Katie); his grandchildren, Audrey Souliere, William Souliere, Leo Souliere and Charlotte Souliere; his siblings, Louis Souliere (Georgeanne), Laura Weir Christine Souliere (Ian) and Cathy McKinney (Ted); his siblings-in-law, Fred Pelletier (Patricia Daynard) and Ken Pelletier (Alexis Hart); and his parent Paul Souliere. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, friends.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in John's name can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, Canadian Blood Services or to the Canada Africa Community Health Alliance (CACHA).
