He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his children, Linda Melanson (Paul) and Steven (Andrea); his grandchildren, Susan Di, Jerry Melanson (Brigitte), Sean (Ashley), Patricia Brezina (Robert) and Janice Yerex (Galen); his great grandchildren, Braiedon, Nyla, Drake, Nathan, Sawyer, Aria, Kai and Oliver; and his friend England.

“Dear Brians family and friends. Brian was the very first person I met at Ontario Hydro when I went in for an interview at Annandale in 1990. We got along wonderfully right off the bat. Over the years, he proved to be professional and trustworthy. When he retired, it was me who walked him out to his vehicle. I turned on the siren and lights as he walked away with a huge smile. He loved it! That's one of my fondest memories after working there for 25 years. He was truly a great guy.”
