He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Janice; his children, Candice (Bill) and Jason (Michelle); his grandchildren, Owen, Sydney and Finlay; his sisters, Lynne Thurston, Bonnie Welsh (Keith) and Cheryl Magda (Peter); his nieces and nephews, Lawson, Marnie (Dan), Julie, Jeff, Rob (Leslie) and Anthony; his father-in-law Wally Wilson; and his brother-in-law Keith Welsh. He was also cherished by his family and his tremendous circle of close friends.

Donations in memory of Doug to either a memorial tree planting program or locally to the Lakeridge Health Oshawa Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
