He was predeceased by: his parents, Vaughan Tompkins and Esther Tompkins; his siblings, Gerry Tompkins (Donna MacDonald) and Sandra Hall; his grandson Chad Goulding; and his niece Kristen Hall.

He is survived by: his brother-in-law Edward Hall; his daughters, Shelley Tompkins (Stephen), Heather Tompkins, Christine Attersley (Jim) and Terri Heffernan (Terry); his great grandchildren, Brooklyn Tompkins, Lyland Goulding and Peyton Calderone-Goulding; and his nephews, Randy, David MacDonald, Jared Tompkins, Douglas Hall (Kevin) and Christopher Hall.
