He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Harasymek and George Lukawesky; his sister Sonja; and his brother-in-law Bill Sweet. He is survived by: his children, Cindy Lukawesky-Dowdle (David), Blaine, Sherry Brewer (Clive), Duane, Claudine Lukawesky (David White) and Ernie Jr. (Grace Mazzotto).

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Oshawa Funeral Home (847 King St W, Oshawa, ON L1J2L4). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location.
