He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Sofia Skerlj and France Skerlj; his daughter Barbara; his wife Kristina; his grandchildren, James, Norman, Madelin, Katelyn, Shawn, Veronica and Olivia; his great grandchild James Junior; his siblings, Pavel, Irena, Marija and Sonja; his cousins, John (Francis) and Joe Tomsic (Donna); and also, Roberta, Perdeep and Nath. He was also cherished by his family and friends.
