With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Franco Fontana (Oshawa, Ontario), who passed away on January 3, 2021 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Lucia. He is survived by: his children, Tony (Sonia), Frank Jr. (Jan) and Josie (Matthew); and his grandchildren, Emily, Mya, Nicholas, Julia, Isabella, Sara and Matthew. He is also survived by his many extended family and friends.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be a private family service held at The OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Saturday January 9, 2021 at 10:30 a. m. A livestream of this service will be available to start viewing at 10:10 a. m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Frank's honour would be greatly appreciated to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.

“This is a very sad time. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I have fond memories of your dad since we were young in Italy and then in Canada. His mother was my Zia Giuseppina. I spent a whole summer in 1949 living with his family in Manocalzato, Italy. We would walk to the sea and spend the day. He was a lot of fun. May you have peace and remember he is now reunited with your dear sweet mother, Lucia. All my love to all of you. I will watch the service. Aunt Stella”
