He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Stokes and Bernice Stokes (Wheaton); his uncle Howard Stokes; and his niece Amber. He is survived by: his wife Debbie Stokes (Bird); his stepchildren, Matthew (Michelle) and Lisa (Paul); his grandchildren, Maddison, Mitchell, Mackenzie, Meaghan, Cole and Aiden; his great grandchild Brielle; his mother-in-law Beatrice Bird; his sisters, Donna Stokes and Holly Blacksky (Claude); his siblings-in-law, Paul Bird (Elaine), Stephen Bird (Sandra) and Donna O'Neill (Skip); and his uncle Ernest Wheaton. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gordon's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of one's choice.
