She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Hancock and Etta Hancock; her husband Vern; and her nephew Kevin Fallows. She is survived by: her son Greg (Cathy); her grandchildren, Heather and Alex; her great grandchildren, Preston and Madelyn Helmle; her brother Harry Hancock (Gayle); her sister-in-law Lynda Fallows; her sibling's children, Marti Hancock, Scott Hancock and Mike Fallows (Debbie); and her close friends, Jane Vanderbilt and Pam Johnson.

Rita struggled with Alzheimer's for the last few years.
