He was predeceased by: his nephew John. He is survived by: his wife Shirley; and his sibling's children, Debbie, Jenny, Mercy, Sheri, Stephanie, Yvette, Brian, Cajetan, Francis, Kenny, Lenny, Leroy, Sean and Terry. He is also survived by cousins, extended family.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Armstrong Funeral Home Chapel (124 King St E, Oshawa, ON L1H 1B6). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. Gertrude's Catholic Church (690 King St E, Oshawa, ON L1H1G5). A reception was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Catholic Church (690 King St E, Oshawa, ON L1H1G5).
Donations in memory of Mel to Sick Kids Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.
