He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ellis and Lillie Ellis (McFarland); and his siblings, Clarence Norman Ellis (Dorothy), Ezra Erven Ellis and Anorma Arena Ellis (Bill).

He is survived by: his spouse Unice Madeline Conner; his brother Walter Nathan Ellis (Yvonne); his children, Wayne Ellis, Ken Ellis (late Joyce) of Lindsay, Shirley Hellemond (Albert) and Lynda Russell (George) of Oakville; his grandchildren, Rebecca (Eugene), Heather (Steve), Derek, Gary, Deanna (Dwayne), Michael, Shawn, Gregory (Destiny), Nicholas and Todd (Nick); and also Lucky. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, a grandniece, a grandnephew, extended family and friends.
